MTS announced the expansion of mobile network capacity at the MTS Live Summer concert venue in Luzhniki.
The operator additionally installed telecom equipment with unique antennas directly on the new stage to expand network capacity during mass events, when the influx of people significantly increases the load on the network.
Typically, additional base stations (stationary or mobile) are used for this. In this case, MTS engineers installed a base station inside the incident site.
The antenna system for ultra-wide coverage was integrated at a height of 8 meters directly on the metal structures where the equipment for sound and lighting installations is located.
All these improvement tasks cover the visual area and increase network capacity by 30%. Thanks to this, viewers can freely stream, create photos and videos directly from the performances.
The area of the new observation deck of MTS Live Summer, on which a stage is installed more than 15 meters high and more than 45 meters high, is 15 thousand square meters high. The open-air concert hall can accommodate about 10 thousand spectators, and with theatrical seating with chairs – more than one and a half thousand people.
Organizing communications at large sites, as a rule, faces non-trivial tasks for our specialists. We first developed and implemented the solution for placing equipment on temporary structures, which we used on the giant stage in Luzhniki, in the fan zone of the World Cup on Vorobyovy Gory in 2018. The new project has become another real challenge for our specialists, and at the same time we want to bring to life a creative engineering idea.
