Huawei launched its new generation of small smartwatches for the first time in Brazil, which have a near-square shape similar to the Apple Watch. Huawei Watch Fit 3 stands out with its ultra-thin design, screen, advanced exercise tracking and long battery life.
The new watch comes with a 1.87 inch, 1,500 nits and 60 Hz AMOLED screen, as well as running the latest version of the brand’s watch operating system. More than 100 sports modes are available for tracking; some of these can benefit from motion sensors, integrated GPS, and water resistance to a depth of 50 meters.
In addition to activity tracking, the watch also shows warm-up and cool-down stretch animations for eight common exercises, including running, cycling and swimming. It is worth noting that the event also saw the launch of Huawei Freebuds 6i, a more affordable version of the brand’s True-Wireless (TWS) headphones with active noise canceling (ANC).
The Stay Fit app has also been redesigned to promote a healthier lifestyle with management of calories consumed and nutritional analysis of foods eaten. The watch will also use this information along with physical activity tracking to provide smart exercise recommendations to help you reach your health goals.
Improvements to the heart rate sensor and the TruSeen 5.5 algorithm allow faster and more precise measurement of heart rate, stress, respiratory rate and blood oxygenation level, in addition to menstrual cycle details when necessary. This information is now integrated with the TruSleep 4.0 algorithm, allowing more in-depth monitoring of your sleep quality and providing recommendations for better sleep through the Huawei Health application.
Watch with a refreshed look and connectivity
Navigation can be done via the touchscreen or via the rotating crown, which allows you to zoom into the app menu or scroll through the sports list, as well as accessing menus and switching between recently used apps. The side button allows you to directly open a preset app.
The body of the watch is made of aluminum. In addition to its thin and light design with a thickness of 9.9 mm and a weight of 26 grams, its appearance has been renewed with new color and strap options. White, green, pink and black models come with fluoroelastomer straps to reduce skin irritation, while the gray model comes with an adjustable nylon strap; Gray and white options add a red accent to the rotating crown.
Connectivity is via Bluetooth and allows you to take calls, view and reply to notifications on all systems, as well as listen to synced music from your mobile directly from your watch if your smartphone runs Android or EMUI, or remotely control your camera’s shutter. For iOS or EMUI. The 400 mAh battery allows you to use the watch for an average of 7 days without needing to charge it, but it can go up to 10 days with more moderate use.
Huawei Freebuds 6i
Huawei’s new TWS earbuds were also launched in Brazil, but there are no major changes in their appearance. They come in purple, black or white, yet are made of quality plastic and come in an in-ear format; It combines a rubber seal with a cable that hangs outside the ear, bringing the microphones closer to the mouth, giving better sound. More room for touch recognition to control functions like swiping, pausing and resuming music, answering and ending calls, and controlling volume.
The highlight of the new headset is the presence of the dynamic intelligent ANC 3.0 system; This system is “the best noise canceling feature in a headset in this price range,” according to the brand, and filters out ambient sounds so you can focus on your audio or simply take advantage of the silence to focus on tasks or moments of relaxation. All of this highlights the brand without compromising sound quality.
The battery promises up to 8 hours of audio playback with ANC off when charging the headphones alone, and reaches up to 35 hours without noise cancellation including recharging the case; Turning on cancellation has a significant impact on battery life, but Huawei didn’t specify those numbers. As for recharging, the manufacturer claims that 10 minutes of charging is enough to guarantee another 4 hours of use.
