Oppo doubles its bet on the Brazilian smartphone market TecMundo will head to London to explore the brand’s newest launch: the Oppo Reno 11F.

And indeed, not only did we get our hands on the device, but we also went to see a bit of the city, watched the Champions League final, and of course tested the phone, especially its rear and selfie cameras. .

First, let’s talk about the technical features. Oppo Reno 11F has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, Full HD Plus resolution, up to 120 Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness, and Panda Glass protection against scratches.

Inside the device, there is a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, which is an energy efficiency-focused intermediate chip. This processor is accompanied by 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage and connection to 5G and WiFi 6 networks.

The battery powering all of this is 5,000mAh, which is standard for most gadgets these days, but the charger is a 67W SuperVOOC that promises to charge the device’s battery from zero in 48 minutes.

What I noticed after a day or two of use was that it charged really fast. Of course, we can only confirm the problem with a more in-depth test, but it can be said that the battery holds up well.

At the end of the day, it came with 30% or 40% charge. Look, I used this a lot to take photos and record a lot of video.

Operating System and AI Eraser

The operating system of Oppo Reno 11F is Android 14 and its interface has been replaced with ColorOS 14.0. Highlights of the operating system include artificial intelligence features such as AI Eraser, which allows you to erase objects with a simple touch.

While it’s not yet available on the Reno 11F, I tested the functionality using the Oppo Find X7 Ultra, which we also used in London.

I know this technology is very similar to what Google and Samsung promised in their recent launches, the Pixel and Galaxy S24, but this was my first time actually using this functionality. And it feels like magic.

You can take a really good photo, but there’s one element that gets in your way, circle it and that’s it! And you can clear an entire photo. This AI Eraser function was a huge success at Oppo’s press tour. TecMundo invited.

According to Oppo, Reno 11F will have this feature soon.

Are Reno 11F cameras good?

Reno 11F has three cameras on the back; The main camera is 64 MP with f/1.7 aperture, 8 MP and 117° ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and 2 MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera that completes the set has 32 MP and f / 2.4 aperture.

And I can say that the performance of the lenses is quite satisfactory. One of the standout features is slow motion. They don’t record in 4K as 4K only goes up to 30fps, but slow motions perform very well.

To capture action, we went to a football match, and at that match I recorded a slow-motion video of Kaká, the former star of the Brazilian national team, falling on his butt. Jokes aside, it showed how satisfying this function is.

In slow motion, there are still 1080p@480fps options and even 720p@960fps options, which is an exaggeration. But actually these other two are a little bit harder to record. I managed to capture a few nice things, but it takes a long time to load and configure the clip, meaning to close it as soon as it stops after finishing recording.

As for other aspects of the cameras, the detail levels and deep black in both video and photos are also quite satisfactory. I believe the cameras perform much better in Pro mode than in automatic mode, of course, which is a point of caution.

For a normal user like me, we will take our mobile phone out of our pocket and take photos. And in these cases, I felt some blurring issue in moving images. Post-processing taking a photo of a player allowed him to create an outline resembling an aura around him.

In Pro mode this is different. For example, in photos with multiple actors moving at the same time, they are all captured very well because we increase the ISO and set the shutter speed higher to capture better images. And it worked, at least for me. However, taking photos on the move with the Reno 11F is not that easy.

Are the photos taken at night with the Reno 11F good?

The front camera of Oppo’s Reno 11F model also performed well. I personally liked it, nothing to say here. As for the night performance of the cameras, there is one point: Night photos look very nice in environments where light is applied to a certain point.

However, when you are in a more closed environment with less light, without any light points, such as in a restaurant I was in, you will see that the camera performance is not satisfactory at all in low lighting situations.

The macro lens also leaves something to be desired. But no 2MP macro camera will be perfect. This feature is great to have, but from what I’ve been able to test, the resolution isn’t that great. You’ll even be able to record an insect you see around, but that photo won’t win the prize.

Unlike night photos with no light points and macro lenses, portrait photos are satisfactory. In general, sharpness, detail levels and deep blacks are very good in both video and photo modes.

The color balance is also very interesting and I believe the camera performs above average for a mid-range mobile phone. At least in what is proposed.

Oppo Reno 11F price and availability

Oppo Reno 11F is expected to arrive in Brazil in the first week of July and will come with a suggested price of R$ 2,999. But I think you can buy it at a more affordable price.

I think this value is quite high for a mid-range mobile phone. It does what it sets out to do, it’s a good smartphone, but for R$2,999 I wouldn’t buy it. I would wait for it to drop a little more, otherwise it might be worth it if you can get a good discount.

And the price of the imported version is slightly lower than the Reno 11F. You can find it at online retailers for around R$2,900. For you, if you find a promotion, an official resale guarantee or even that discount in Brazil, do you think it is worth the price they are asking?
