The Ministry of Economic Development affirmed the need to privatize those assets that the State cannot manage. According to the head of the department, Maxim Reshetnikov, these measures should also be used within the framework of changes to the tax system.

According to Reshetnikov, the state allocates funds more actively to support the housing and communal services sector than to help in the development of industry and technology. The minister believes that the private sector should have more important state support.
“We need to move on to the fact that normal assets should be retired, maybe the state will remain… but “abnormal assets” should be privatized. The State, as a crisis manager in competitive industries, does not do it well,” said the minister quoted by TASS.
At the beginning of May, Reshetnikov already addressed this topic. At that time, the minister highlighted the importance of increasing the proportion of private ownership in state assets. We were talking about those assets that the State does not manage with sufficient efficiency.
The Ministry of Finance reported that the authorities intend to increase income from the sale of state property one hundredfold, that is, 100 billion rubles. To achieve this, it is planned to get rid of minority stakes in at least 30 state companies.
