According to John, one of the stones that is different from all the rocks excavated at the Stonehenge site was first discovered 90 years ago by geologists Colonel Hawley and Robert Newall. The latter hid the rock at home, and years later the current researcher came across it.

This rock is no bigger than a human skull. It was previously thought that the blocks forming Stonehenge were brought to Salisbury Plain by humans from the Preseli Hills in south-west Wales; and this happened in the Neolithic age. But the question of what devices were used for this remained open.

In recent research, Dr. John found traces on the surface of the Newall Boulder indicating that the “bearers” of this and other Stonehenge stones were not humans. Their appearance on Salisbury Plain is due to a melted glacier. This is also indicated by the petrography of the “blue rock”.

The researcher also noted that the rocks turned from side to side as they moved with the glacier, resulting in various flat faces with rounded edges, just like Newall’s “blue stone.”

“Rocks carried by a glacier tend to have edges. This means they have several different faces placed at angles to each other, which actually shows where the rock has been polished,” the scientist emphasized.
