The attackers’ goal is to gain access to a mobile bank or government services via SMS codes. Under the pretext of customs duties, scammers ask customers to provide a code from an SMS that is actually sent to log into a banking app. Attackers can then use this code to withdraw money or take out a loan.

Attackers also engage in practices such as stealing access codes to government services, collecting customers’ personal data for later use in fraud schemes, and transferring funds to “safe accounts”.

T-Bank actively fights fraud using technologies of the Fraud Roulette and Neuroshield projects to detect and block such schemes, and also educates its customers on methods to protect themselves from financial attacks.
