“Due to the fact that several suppliers and some catering establishments are undergoing raw material inspections, we will be removing ‘Tuna Ciabatta’ from the menu for several weeks,” the company said in a statement.

They added that “Tasty – period” has not received any complaints and does not doubt the quality of this product, however, “it understands and supports the decision to carry out additional controls by the competent authorities.”

The company promised to provide additional information about the return of the “Ciabatta with Tuna” to the Cafe’s regular menu.

  • Inspections of suppliers are carried out in the context of the situation that developed on June 16 around “Kitchen in the District” (LLC “LocalKitchen”). More than 120 people were poisoned by the service’s prepared food; botulism was suspected.
  • Azbuka Vkusa, Miratorg and Vkusville also responded publicly to the situation. The companies reported that they were not cooperating with suspicious suppliers or were reviewing their menus.
  • On June 18, the first arrests began in the case of a massive botulism outbreak in Moscow, and Rospotrebnadzor announced that it had identified the producers of salads poisoned by botulism.

Experts interviewed by RB.RU previously talked about the possible reasons for the decline in the quality of prepared foods delivered in Russia.
