VKontakte developers have announced a new functionality Web3. Thanks to the integration of NFT into the work of the social network, ITMO 2023 graduates have the opportunity to confirm their education using Soulbound tokens.
To request confirmation of a diploma and create an NFT copy of it, a graduate only needs to enter a personal code in the VK NFT application. It is important to note that Soulbound technology means that these tokens are permanently linked to the account: they cannot be sold or sent to another person.
Other educational institutions are expected to join the initiative in the future. The introduction of Soulbound technology into the VK ecosystem will simplify many of the usual processes, for example, writing a resume for job search.
As noted in a press release, users will be able to confirm not only university degrees, but also course passing, personal and professional achievements, as well as various awards.
