The drug is based on monoclonal antibodies that can bind the toxin in the patient’s blood. As stated by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, press service of the Ministry of Russia, clinical studies before starting tests on patients with botulism will include evaluation of the safety of the drug, its pharmacokinetics and methods of elimination from the body of healthy volunteers. The Health Department reported.

The study aims to further determine the effectiveness and safety of the drug, which will be an important step before its possible introduction into medical practice.
