“The Association of Micromobility Operators has approached the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development with a proposal to create additional cycling infrastructure in the capital. This season will be temporary; in the future, the bike lanes may become permanent,” the joint press release said.

It is reported that 1.3 km long bicycle lanes have already been implemented as a pilot project on Tsvetnoy Boulevard.

By the end of the season, another 4.6 km of bicycle lanes will be installed on 6 streets in Khamovniki, Donskoy district and Flacon cluster.

According to the Moscow Department of Transport, in 3 months since the start of the rental season in Moscow, users have already made more than 29 million trips on electric scooters, 1.5 times more than during the same period in 2023.

Yandex Go, Whoosh and MTS Urent opened the new season in Moscow on March 26. The services have expanded the fleet of devices and updated the rules for their use. At the end of May, the companies reported an increase in fines for violations of both traffic rules and the companies’ own rules.
