Except for citizens of the Russian Federation with children under six years of age, residents of small towns, regions with a low level of construction and people who want to build their own housing, regardless of the age of their heirs, will now be able to apply for a family mortgage at 6 percent. Family mortgages will be extended for several categories of Russians from July 1, the department said. The program is expected to include facilities in the Pskov, Bryansk, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Tomsk and Saratov regions and other localities considered small towns. It is also noted that in 680 towns with a population of less than 100 thousand inhabitants, developers have not delivered a single new building in recent years.
Experts believe that the expansion of the programme will be mainly due to borrowers from the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
We remind you that on July 1 the old family mortgage program will end. Previously, Vladimir Putin ordered the government to extend such loans with state support until 2030 and maintain the main basic parameters. He stated that for families with children under six years of age inclusive, the preferential rate of 6% should not change.
Various options for extending the family mortgage were later discussed, but the president again put an end to this issue. He outlined the development vector of family mortgages during the SPIEF 2024 plenary session, the press service of the Ministry of Construction reported.
We previously wrote that VTB Bank will sharply increase mortgage rates again from July 1 and the credit institution believes that other financial organizations will do the same.
