Supermicro CEO Charles Liang expressed his excitement about Musk’s use of the liquid cooling solution, noting its potential to significantly reduce power consumption in AI data centers.
Musk talked about the facility’s 130-megawatt capacity and plans to expand to 500 MW. The Tesla cluster is designed to expand the capabilities of Tesla’s Full Autopilot feature, and its xAI supercomputer powers GrokAI, an AI chatbot for X Premium subscribers.
Both supercomputers are expected to be operational within a few months.
