American Rounds has developed machines that use artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology to check customers’ ages to ensure they meet legal requirements.

U.S. federal law requires that you be 18 years of age or older to purchase long gun ammunition and 21 years of age to purchase handgun ammunition.

According to the company, its machines are equipped with artificial intelligence technology that can scan cards and recognize faces. This allows you to verify that the person using the machine matches the ID provided.

American Rounds machines are currently installed in six locations in Oklahoma and Alabama.

But in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, one of the machines was removed after a city council meeting debated its legality. Although the city’s law department confirmed that the machines were legal to install and complied with all zoning regulations, the store owner decided to remove the machine due to low sales.
