“Labeling of games should warn users about potentially inappropriate content – this is our social responsibility towards gamers. The descriptors (visual designs) we developed were previously approved by the Ministry of Energy and the experiment was given the green light,” Mikheev told the publication.
The list of sensitive content will include scenes of violence, sex, smoking and alcohol, drug use, foul language, as well as those related to fear and microtransactions.
Currently, VK Play and RuStore, gaming companies Lesta Games, Astrum Entertainment and 1C Games are testing technological solutions for the implementation of descriptors.
It should be noted that a voluntary experiment on labeling of games will be the first step towards self-regulation of the united gaming industry.
