Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced the opening of the company’s new plant in Beijing.
Its main feature is full automation. It works 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Smartphones assemble robots, and they also monitor the quality of the products.
Although there are people at the factory who monitor its operations, they do not take part in the assembly of smartphones.
The enterprise is equipped with 11 production lines, which will produce the flagship Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip. Assembly of one smartphone takes from 3 seconds. The plant produces 10 million smartphones per year.
The company claims that the plant itself can optimize its own processes in order to “develop independently.”
