The concept was packaged in the UK as a plate and called the Eatwell Guide. According to the Eatwell Guide, a healthy diet involves a balanced selection of five food groups throughout the day or week: one-third fruit and vegetables, one-third grains and starches, and the remaining third a mix of dairy products, proteins, and fats from both animal and plant sources.
