Bloomberg previously reported that Tesla decided to delay the presentation in order to buy time to assemble additional prototypes and rework some elements of the car.
In April, Musk announced plans to unveil robotaxi on August 8. The same day, Reuters reported that the company had abandoned its $25,000 electric car project to focus on robotaxi development. However, Musk denied the report.
Tesla recently experienced large-scale layoffs affecting more than 10% of its 140,000-person workforce. Two senior executives have also left the company, and Musk has emphasized the need to reduce costs and headcount.
