MTS has expanded its fixed-line network in the Moscow region in six months. Thanks to this, more than 73 thousand households can now be connected to gigabit home Internet. This is 28% more than in the same period in 2023.
The innovation applies to new and already inhabited residential complexes, apartment buildings built under the renovation program, and individual residential buildings.
Some statistics:
► 60% of buildings that received internet access from MTS in the first half of 2024 are apartment buildings
► 28% of houses are new buildings: in particular, we are talking about the residential complexes “Klenovye Allei”, “Dostizhenie” and “Parkovye Allei”
► 27% of connected houses are located in the Moscow region: Domodedovo, Chekhov, Lyubertsy, Naro-Fominsk, Krasnogorsk, Reutov, Balashikha, Noginsk and Ivanteyevka
Thanks to gigabit Internet, people can access the network at high speeds on several devices simultaneously without loss of quality: work and study remotely, watch movies and TV in high quality, stream, play computer games with minimal latency, and use smart devices.

We hide the constant growth of home Internet traffic in our fixed network in the capital and the region. Thus, in June 2024, the volume of MTS home Internet traffic in the capital and the region grew by almost 22% compared to June last year. This is due to both the growth of our network and the growth in the number of devices for home use with Internet access: smartphones, laptops, smart TVs, speakers, smart home devices.
We continue to expand our fixed-line network in the region using the most advanced fiber-optic technology available today, GPON, which provides a stable connection at high speeds for a large number of peer-to-peer users.
— Director of Strategy and Development of the Moscow Region of MTS Dmitry Polyakov
MTS provides access to the GPON network on the Internet in the Moscow region at speeds up to 1 Gbps over wired connection and up to 500 Mbps over Wi-Fi.
The length of the MTS fiber-optic network in the capital region is about 50 thousand km. More than 94% of households in Moscow and up to 70% in the region can be connected to it, depending on the specific locality.
