Spotted by Android Authority in Google Play Services v24.28.30, the new design will change the user interface to provide “more accessibility.” Previously, the “Scan from Photo” button was located below the QR code area, and buttons, including flash controls, were located in the upper-right corner. The new design combines all the buttons directly below the QR code area, which improves usability thanks to a “more intuitive layout,” the publication writes. The animation has also been slightly tweaked.

While this updated version isn’t yet available globally, it won’t be long before it arrives.
