But as it turns out, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easy to repair. The PBKreviews team took the device apart to find out just how easy it is to fix.
One of the features of the CMF Phone 1 is its removable back cover, which is secured with four flat-head screws and a large screw called the Accessory Point.
Once all screws are removed, the plastic back panel can be easily removed using a special tool.
However, accessing the battery is not that easy. It is hidden under a thin protective layer that can be easily removed, but this voids the warranty.
Next, you need to remove the 12 Phillips screws that have tamper-evident labels on them, another way to void your warranty. The top half of the rear plastic cover contains the protective glass for the camera and antenna.
The device’s motherboard houses cameras, processor, RAM and permanent memory, as well as sensors.
Although the modular design allows for easy removal of many components, the battery becomes difficult to access due to a hidden screw under the Accessory Point. The final repairability score for the CMF Phone 1 was 6.5 out of 10.
