Instagram Reels can now have multiple audio tracks at once, the platform announced this Wednesday (17). new feature lets you add more songs to videooffers more room for creativity.
“Creators will be able to add up to 20 songs to a single Reels and visually align the audio with elements like text, stickers, and video quotes,” Instagram said in a statement.

Focus on short videos
Recently, the social network’s president, Adam Mosseri, confirmed that Instagram will focus on short-form videos, a format he said is the most engaging for fulfilling the platform’s purpose: connecting people with friends and topics they care about.
The platform follows a different strategy from TikTok, the main competitor in the segment, which encourages the publication of longer content. Since 2022, it has been possible to publish videos of up to 10 minutes on the ByteDance app.
The ability to add multiple parts to a single video is a testament to Instagram’s efforts: The editing tool is inaccessible on longer videos. Only available for videos up to 90 seconds long.
