As RBC writes, citing data from hh.ru, the leaders in the growth rate of vacancies in the first half of 2024 were Kenya, Zimbabwe and Cameroon. An analysis of the service’s data shows that seven out of ten countries with the largest increase in vacant positions at companies in the Russian Federation are African countries.
Compared to the first half of 2023, the number of vacant positions has increased several times, in some cases dozens of times. In the first six months of 2023, 161 such vacancies were registered in Kenya; by the end of the first half of 2024, there were 6.4 thousand.
In other countries, the dynamics were not as marked, but growth was still recorded. In Zimbabwe, although the number of vacancies increased 15-fold, there were only 165. In Cameroon, the number increased to 130 (10 times more than a year earlier).
At the same time, 1.7 thousand applications from Russian organisations were registered in Algeria, which is seven times more than the previous year.
Countries where Russian companies first posted vacancies
300 proposals were submitted by Russian organisations in Nepal, the Bahamas, Iceland, Sierra Leone, Malawi and Barbados.
The staff shortage in Russia remains one of the key issues facing companies. According to HeadHunter, 88% of respondents in the first half of the year said they “strongly agreed” or “somewhat agreed” with this statement.
According to company executives quoted by Forbes, the main reason for the shortage of qualified personnel is geopolitical tensions. 62% of respondents believe this is the case.
