Netflix wants to significantly improve the viewing experience of its service on iOS, and the proof of this is a new redesign that has begun to be implemented in its application available for the iPhone. The new Netflix interface, which arrived today in an update, includes major changes to the home screen design, new animations, and other related improvements.

The new app design in particular is the fruit of a project led by Janum Trivedi, who previously worked at Netflix as a senior software engineer. Trivedi stated on twitter who started developing this new interface a year ago with the promise make “Netflix smoother, more charming and polished”. The changes that come with the new version do not go unnoticed.

The most important, without a doubt, is new home partition. Now the series or movie shown on the home screen is displayed as a card with a small animation that is appreciated when the user moves the device slightly. The home screen background color will also change to match the colors on the cover of the show or movie that is in the foreground.

Other changes to the Netflix app

The new Netflix interface is also getting new animations in different sections. Among them, when accessing the profile, where we can also notice a tactile feedback, when accessing the header or when switching between different categories. Netflix also added new gesture to return to the home screen if the user is viewing the details of a series or movie. You just need to swipe down from the top of the screen.

All these changes, we repeat, are available through the update. On iOS, new versions of apps are installed automatically, even ifIs there a way to “force” this new version? if you want to already have the new Netflix design.

For this it is necessary enter the app store from your iPhone, click your account icon and go to the updates section. The Netflix app should appear in the list. Click “Update” to get the latest version.
