Two remotely operated submersibles will visit the wreck of the Titanic, the first such visit since the OceanGate submarine Titan sank.

The operation with remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs) is coordinated by the company RMS Titanic. The crew responsible for the mission consists of seven people and is positioned at the coordinates of the Titanic this Tuesday (16).

The vehicles will take 3D scans of the Titanic wreckage and take photographs to document its deterioration. records will be compared with files from the last timeIt was carried out in 2010.

The RMS Titanic equipped submersibles with a “special high-resolution camera array” and special lighting. The component is capable of recording images at 65K resolutionThe largest of the expeditions in the Titanic region.

RMS Titanic believes the images will reveal important information about the condition of the wreck, surrounding areas and artefacts at risk.

According to the company, there is also the expectation that there will be more space to explore marine life and the interior of the ship.

Unlike OceanGate’s Titan, ROVs do not require operators to be onboard to control the vehicle. The entire operation is performed remotely, so there is no chance of professionals getting lost in the depths of the Titanic.
