Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced an innovation that partially anonymizes accounts on the messenger. Durov published a blog post about it on Friday, July 19, on his Telegram channel.

Information about a Telegram account will include information about the country and the date of its registration. The innovation applies only to public accounts. Durov stressed that a similar system works on another social network banned in Russia.

Durov explained the anonymization of accounts as an effort to combat scammers.

It was previously reported that Telegram will introduce an app store and an in-app browser that will support Web3 pages in July.
