Small technology companies and startups will be able to apply for support measures worth 50 million rubles for the development of systems based on artificial intelligence. This measure may be included in the federal project “Artificial Intelligence”.

According to a source familiar with the project’s preparations, the possibility of providing grants of up to 50 million rubles for the creation of artificial intelligence solutions and their commercialization is being considered. According to the publication’s interlocutor, the support measure will create at least 3.5 thousand jobs. The total income of the beneficiaries of such assistance is estimated at 21 billion rubles.
As clarified by the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, the more precise parameters of the national project will become clear “after its formation is completed.”
The Ministry of Digital Development, in turn, indicated that all proposals require discussion and cannot be included in the document.
According to Konstantin Romanov, Director of AI and Digital Products at VimpelCom, it typically takes about 50 million rubles to test hypotheses, achieve MVP and develop specific AI models.
