How is it for statistics? Realme says it will take 80 seconds for the next phone’s battery to charge realme gt3 from 0% to 20% and just under 10 minutes to reach 100%.

That’s thanks to the new 240W fast phone charging system, and it’s the fastest and most powerful way to charge a smartphone battery we’ve ever seen. Realme also claims it won’t be beaten for a while as its system maximizes the recharging capabilities of a USB Type-C connection.

How Realme made 240W charging a reality

How it works? The 240W charger uses dual GaN technology and has three special chipsets to manage the charging process, as well as a dedicated 12A charging cable. The system has 60% more power than other chargers, but the unit is no larger than an adapter 150 W. The GT3’s battery has a rather modest 4600mAh capacity, which definitely helps the charger achieve those high numbers.

Realme has extensively tested the battery and claims it will still deliver 80% of its capacity after 1600 charge cycles even at that power. He also designed 13 temperature sensors, an excellent vapor chamber system, and other security measures in the phone. Other power management tools mean the phone switches between modes based on usage to keep the battery charged for a long time.

Bright lights in the back too

Although the charging technology is interesting, when you look at the photos on the phone, something else catches your eye. Behind, inside the camera module, there is a bright light. Realme calls this C-ring the pulse interface design and displays the phone’s status when charging, when a call comes in, as a notification, and even as a countdown when taking a photo. The RGB lighting system supports 25 different colors and five different speeds.

Take a closer look: A ring of illumination surrounds a transparent window in the phone, apparently displaying a sticker for the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and NFC chip. Realme says it’s inspired by gaming phones like the Asus ROG Phone 6, but doesn’t mention the most influential smartphone coverage of recent times, the Nothing Phone 1.

Realme, which was announced at MWC 2023, has yet to reveal more about the Realme GT3. For example, we don’t know anything about the camera or the exact Snapdragon chip that will power the phone. We know it will ship with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM paired with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or even 1TB of internal storage. The cheapest model will cost $649, but despite being priced in US dollars, the Realme GT3 is unlikely to arrive in the United States.
