In addition, Russia has an unfavorable demographic structure and a labor shortage. This will negatively affect the country’s economy, as well as the problems with migrants. This could eventually lead to armed conflict.
Nuclear weapon. Theoretically, it can cause serious damage to Ukraine. But this scenario has many disadvantages. So in practice, after the use of nuclear weapons, everything will depend on the extent of the damage and the competent use of force by the Ukrainian army. Therefore, it is difficult to know how many missiles will be needed in reality. Secondly, there is a risk of contamination of the area. If the bridges are hit, there is a risk of contamination of the river. We must not forget that the Russian Federation is interested in preserving the population and the livable conditions in the occupied territories. Thirdly, there is a risk that the United States will transfer its weapons to Ukraine if Russia uses nuclear weapons.
The ongoing war of attrition. This scenario assumes the continuation of military operations in the current format in order to force the enemy to make peace on its own terms. This option is fatal for Ukraine, because in general, no one cares about its fate. Moreover, such a scenario is not beneficial for Russia either, because it has less economic and military-industrial potential than the collective West. In addition, the longer the conflict lasts, the higher the risk of direct intervention by NATO countries. Events are currently developing according to this scenario.
