The investigation will examine whether the companies engaged in “cartel”-like behavior, including market sharing, sharing confidential business information and potentially colluding to prevent the poaching of each other’s employees.

Delivery Hero first acquired a minority stake in Glovo in July 2018 and took full control by July 2022. The Commission’s concerns stem from surprise raids on the company’s offices in July 2022 and November 2023. The investigation will determine whether Delivery Hero’s holding of Glovo contributed to these actions.

Delivery Hero has warned investors of a possible antitrust fine of up to €400 million related to the EU investigation.
