M.Video-Eldorado analyzed statistics on console sales in the Russian market in the first half of 2024. It turned out that in January-June, year-on-year sales growth amounted to 97% in monetary terms and 39% in quantitative terms.

In total, Russians bought 704,000 gaming consoles for a total amount of 15.5 billion rubles, according to the company’s data. The top seller was PlayStation.
- Sales Game station 5 In monetary terms it represented 73% of the entire gaming device market and 31% in unit terms.
- Share xbox In the Russian market, in monetary terms, it is 10%, in unit terms, 5.7%.
- nintendo It occupies 5% of the market in monetary terms and 4.5% in units.
Russians are also reportedly actively buying retro consoles: 414 thousand of these devices were sold in the first half of the year alone.
The main driver of PlayStation sales, Sergei Mezin, head of the “Game Development and Gaming Community” department at M.Video-Eldorado, cites the increased availability of purchasing a game console, as well as exclusive and online session games, such as EA FC.
The expert also does not rule out greater audience interest in Xbox and Nintendo in the fall, when several major video games are expected to be released.
