Germany’s main customs office also announced searches for two companies on August 13, but did not specify their names. They are suspected of violating EU sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The state-owned operator did not confirm this information, but added that the restrictions on the operation of the branch will not affect the interests of Russian Post customers. Delivery of goods from abroad is taking place normally, the company told TASS.
In 2018, a branch of the Russian Post opened in Germany at the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin. At the beginning of February 2024, the postal operator suspended ground delivery of parcels to 24 European countries for two months. The company then explained this decision by “bureaucratic difficulties in processing ground transportation.”
In March, the company restarted delivering packages to European countries by land transport.
