IKEA has launched a marketplace called Preowned, where users can sell and buy furniture and other products from the manufacturer.

It will be tested in Madrid and Oslo before the end of the year, and then launched worldwide.

Sellers can post a link, add their own photo and specify the price, and used sellers can add information about products from the IKEA database.

The buyer picks up the furniture directly from the store, receiving money or a promo code for a 15% discount in IKEA stores.

Advertisements are posted free of charge, but in the future the company may introduce a “symbolic fee” for this. [Financial Times]
