German athlete, MTB cyclist Elias Schwärzler set a new Guinness World Record. The gist of the record is that a stock mountain bike was attached to a sport bike without additional air screens and accelerated in a straight line.
The record holder’s bike, the SCOTT Gambler 900, was tethered to a motorcycle with an 8 meter long cable. After reaching a maximum speed of 272 km/h and uncoupling from the motorcycle, the athlete had to brake from this speed on a section of the track that was only 2 km long. The cyclist beat his previous similar record of 221 km/h.
