  • India is set to become one of the top 10 tourist destinations in the next five years. The country is currently ranked 39th. According to India’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, the share of the tourism industry in the country’s GDP is expected to increase to 10% from the current 7.9%.

  • Foreign banks will be able to open branches in Russia. Before the bill came into force, foreign credit institutions were required to open subsidiary banks or representative offices in the Russian Federation.

  • Prices for apartments in new buildings in Russia have reached a new high. The average cost per square meter of housing in the country’s largest cities rose to 133.22 thousand rubles.

  • The ban on exporting Russian gasoline has been extended until the end of 2024.

  • X competitor Bluesky, the social network, reported “record levels of activity” among users in Brazil after blocking Elon Musk’s platform. In the past three days, Bluesky has added 1 million new accounts.

  • The broker Gazprombank Investments will suspend the withdrawal of yuan to bank accounts from September 2. The reason is “infrastructure restrictions” associated with correspondent banks.
