If we talk about the results of August, the number of orders increased by 16%, and the average bill increased by 20%. Yandex Shop reported a year-on-year increase in orders by 65% ​​in August. Express delivery from the Perekrestok and Pyaterochka retail chains immediately became 70% more popular, the number of orders increased by 40%, and the cost of purchases by 20%.

According to Infoline, the turnover of the Russian e-grocery market in 2024 will be 1.45 trillion rubles. The reasons for the significant increase in the average bill, in addition to inflation, were the rise in delivery costs and the unwillingness of consumers to pay for this service, said Olga Pashkova, senior analyst at Data Insight.

At the same time, delivery drivers’ salaries are also increasing. By the end of summer 2024, in large cities of Russia, they have increased by 50% – to 119.3 thousand rubles.

The e-grocery market in Russia continues to grow; by the end of the first quarter, its volume reached 310 billion rubles, which is 4% more than in 2023. From April 2023 to May 2024, grocery and ready-made food delivery apps were installed 50.8 million times, Go Mobile research showed.
