Gboard is preparing support for even more powerful autocorrect

The autocorrection feature of Gboard, Google’s virtual keyboard for smartphones, will become more powerful after the release of Android 15. Another feature in development is a new language switching shortcut. In the latest version of Gboard, the user could change the selected language by tapping and holding the space bar, but this gesture will no longer work in a future update.

The gesture will be replaced by a dedicated button with more direct interaction. User can switch between available languages ​​with a single tapor long press to open the full tray.

Finally, a new edit button should be added to the tool tray. The shortcut will enable drag and drop gestures from functions to the utility bar.
