In a recent study at the University of Otago in New Zealand, researchers found that you should do strength training in the evening to sleep better.
Scientists chose 28 people to conduct the experiment. Most were women. The average age of the participants was 25.
The volunteers came to the lab for two sessions: one in which they sat and watched television for four hours, and the second in which they took breaks every 30 minutes to do three minutes of strength exercises (squats).
It turned out that people slept about 27 minutes longer after doing the exercises, but their sleep quality remained the same.
However, according to Raj Dasgupta MD, a board-certified physician and medical reviewer for the National Council on Aging, more research is needed to confirm and validate the findings.
