JSC Ingosstrakh compensated Ozon for damage caused by a fire at a logistics center in the Istra district of the Moscow region in 2022. The payment amounted to 6.443 billion rubles and was transferred in a lump sum. The press service of the market spoke about this.

“The agreements reached are the result of extensive and thorough teamwork. According to the results of the investigation, the insured event was confirmed; we thank our colleagues for the constructive dialogue and objective decision,” said Ozón.

Sellers were compensated for the cost of damaged or lost goods after the fire from their own funds. Logistics operations in the restored blocks were resumed in the fall of 2023.

“Given the large number of damaged shipments and the completely different range of products, we worked closely with the client to classify the property and assess the damage. We thank Ozon for their trust,” said Ingosstrakh.

The fire occurred more than two years ago, in August 2022. The area of ​​the fire was 55 thousand square meters. m, the second and third blocks of the warehouse complex were damaged. Ozon leased this warehouse to companies of the Orientir group of companies.

In November 2022, Ozon completed an inventory of goods from a part of the warehouse in New Riga that was not destroyed by the fire. 80% of the goods remained intact and were put back on sale. By October 2022, Ozon had paid compensation to 25,000 entrepreneurs for goods burned in a warehouse in New Riga. This represents 70% of the total number of sellers whose goods were stored in burned blocks. The remaining 30% of sellers received compensation by June 2023.
