Baza reports that Roskomnadzor has begun to slow down YouTube in response to the blocking of popular Russian musicians such as Shaman, Oleg Gazmanov, Polina Gagarina and Grigory Leps.

The management sent a letter to the Russian office of Google LLC demanding that access to them be restored. However, the response to this request still does not work.

Sources also believe that at first it was planned to completely block YouTube in Russia, but in the end they decided to evaluate a temporary slowdown of its work.

This information is confirmed by a published letter from Maxim Prytkin, head of the Roskomnadzor Control and Supervision Department, sent to the Ministry of Digital Development. In the document, he drew attention to the growing number of Russian channels being blocked and stated that government agencies have all the necessary resources to put pressure on the company in such a situation.

At the moment, connections of Russian performers remain blocked.
