The Genshin Impact cell phone has a great and interesting design.

One of the problems I have with smartphone design these days is that most phones are boring. We have the same old glass phones in dull, boring colors that aren’t fun. They do their job, but nothing more. And I’m tired of it! I want something cool and interesting in terms of phone design.

OnePlus unveiled a new Genshin Impact version of its OnePlus 12R phone during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. Although I’m not a big fan Genshin Impact, this is one of the most beautiful collaborations I’ve seen in a long time. It’s a breath of fresh air in a stale market and I want to see more of it.

Attractive and elegantly designed equipment

OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition has the same form factor as OnePlus 12R standard, released in February. This means it still has a curved screen, a flat aluminum frame on the top and bottom, and a round camera module on the back. The alert slider is on the left edge, while the volume rocker and sleep/wake button are on the right. But the version about Genshin Impact She has a beautiful style that makes her stand out from the crowd.

The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition phone itself comes in a beautiful Electro Violet color combination. It’s a stunning purple-lavender shade with a matte finish so it doesn’t show fingerprints. The camera module is also painted purple to match the rest of the body.

The rear glass also features a unique design that reflects the aesthetics of Keqing, the game’s character. The design features Keqing’s floral and electric element with its signature lightning bolt stiletto heel and “KEQING” written at the bottom. The OnePlus logo is still located in the center.

One of the most unique elements of this limited edition OnePlus 12R is the top edge. OnePlus used a special engraving process called “Electroetching” to place the “KEQING” text on it. It’s subtle, but serves a special purpose. Specifically, this engraving can reflect light and project the text characters “KEQING” onto nearby surfaces. It’s just a cool little trick for big fans Genshin Impactand demonstrates OnePlus’ commitment to this collaboration.

Special touches in the software

While most special edition phones are limited to just the hardware, OnePlus has also added a few extra touches on the software side.

OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition continues to run OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14. But it has an exclusive Keqing theme with Keqing animated wallpaper and Lightning Stiletto static wallpaper. The always-on display also features a dedicated Keqing-themed clock widget, and boot, charge, and fingerprint unlock animations are also customized to match the theme.

Application icons are created specifically for this special phone. Some apps will have a completely custom icon, while standard ones will only have a purple diamond around the standard app icon.

Lots of interesting additions

Apart from being a beautiful phone, the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition also includes a ton of fun collectibles for fans. Even the packaging is a collectible, personalized gift box, so you know your purchase is special.

The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition includes a set of chibi-themed stickers, a set of buttons and pins, and a Keqing-themed protective phone case. It also has a SIM eject tool in the form of a Lightning stylus, which is one of the best I’ve ever seen. This is definitely something you won’t want to miss. Lastly, since this phone is literally a work of art, OnePlus also offers a fun little acrylic phone stand for Keqing to hold the custom phone on, as well as a display box.

One of the most attractive smartphones of 2024

While it’s more or less the same as the regular OnePlus 12R that we’ve already reviewed, OnePlus has made some optimizations to the phone specifically for gaming. Optimizations include faster game loading speeds, reduced latency, and lower touch latency.

Otherwise, the phone is almost the same as the regular OnePlus 12R. But since it’s a limited edition, it’s priced a little higher at $650 versus $500 for the standard OnePlus 12R. Note that the special version has 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which you can get in the regular version for $600. In other words, you’ll have to pay $50 more for all the extras, which isn’t bad at all.

While I like the phone’s design, I think some of the finer details escape me as I’m not an avid gamer. Genshin Impact. But those who play this game, and especially who like the character Keqing, will definitely enjoy this game. It may also be easier for them to explain unique design elements.
