Initially, some users encountered the issue of RMA request being rejected or replacement processors not being available to replace.

However, the situation has changed recently, and some users have reported that they have either received newer processor models or a receipt for the full cost of the chips they purchased at launch.

One buyer, who goes by the pseudonym PK1, found a “loophole” in Intel’s RMA system. He said Intel didn’t ask for proof that the Core i9-13900K processor was operating unstable.

Ultimately, after submitting a refund request for a fully functional chip, he received a full refund of $599, which was the price the processor would cost at launch in 2022.

Another user named SomeOrdinary_Indian shared his story on Reddit about replacing his Core i9-13900K processor after facing unstable performance of the chip.

Since the supply of 13th-gen processors is limited, he was surprised to receive a newer Core i9-14900K instead of the 13th-gen processor.
