Correct answer: as much as needed. And you need a lot. More light equals more light. I myself was happy with the groups in the kitchen!

And so it happened. The fifth tape (by the way, from Yandex) has firmly established itself in the bedroom, placing one of the two light sources in the room. Now it turns on in the evening by itself, and turns off by itself. And it also gives an idea of ​​the required result depending on the time of day.

This article discusses why you might need a smart feed, how to add it to a smart home, and what commands and scripts you can create with it.

What is the benefit in Russia

💜 Will highlight any interior. The tape will illuminate the interior with any color bracelet – or just light. The greatest benefit from it will be in the kitchen: it is a very easy and convenient way to illuminate the countertop.

Which tape is better to buy?

LED strip Aqara T1.

There are three partners, each with their own pros and cons.

1. The most advanced: LED strip Aqara T1. I wrote a review of it earlier. The main advantage is the ability to control the tape segment by segment. This allows you to set a separate color for each small “piece” of the tape, and it itself can reproduce complex visual effects – shimmer, blink segments, and so on. This tape is in relation to the House with Alice through the Aqara application.

The downside is the price considering the short length. The basic set costs 5,000 rubles, and in it you only sold 1 meter of tape. Additional meters can be purchased for 1,500 rubles each.

2. The most adequate: Smart LED strip Yandex. Good tape, also with Matter support out of the box. There was a review here.

The presence of Matter via Wi-Fi is a plus. The tape can be controlled even without Internet access. The tape can also be added to several ecosystems at once, without deleting one from another: I have it in Yandex and in Apple Home on my iPhone. The last thing that was done was to quickly adjust the brightness and color of the control point “curtain”.

The quality is decent, the price is excellent considering that for this money you immediately got a 3-meter tape. It can be thrown not only into the House with Alice, but also into Apple Home.

Minus – additional meters for the tape are not always easy to buy, they are often not available on the Market. Each costs 790 rubles, and the tape itself will cost 3990 rubles.

Yeelight Lightstrip 1S.

3. The most budget-friendly: Yeelight LED Strip 1S. Time-tested, simple and normally working tape quarter 2 meters for only 2500 rubles. Adequate brightness, securely attached. Sold in all possible smart homes “House with Alice”. Works well, especially this version (there are questions about the infection).

The tape has no downsides, except that the manufacturer is not positive about integrating its products into Russian smart homes. For example, in House with Alice Recently, the control of the tape modes disappeared, only the change of static colors remained. And it was the “Chinese” who took it away.

How to install the tape correctly

The most obvious place for the tape is the top of the cabinet, which does not rest against the ceiling.

All smart tapes have an adhesive surface. They can be installed in absolutely any position and on any surface. First of all, the tape should be placed on surfaces close to the floor or ceiling – then the light is beautifully diffused and turns into previously empty space in the interior accent.

No other advice will be given here, except to recommend not to attach the tape directly to any flammable materials. For example, try not to stick it directly to curtains or a sofa.

Of course, in an ideal world I won’t burn out from the heat that LEDs love. It’s just that no one will give a document anywhere that some LED won’t melt due to a defect. It happens unbelievable rare, but not worth the risk.

How to connect to a smart home

The Yandex feed has a button that you can use to change lighting modes. It will come in handy if for some reason you find it inconvenient to control the feed via Alice or the app.

To connect Smart LED strip from Yandex To House with Alice, you need any Yandex Station (except for the first generation). Next:

1. Plug the strip into the outlet

2. Open the Home with Alice app (App Store or Google Play)

3. If you don’t see the option to add a new device, click on the offer “plus” in the upper right corner, select Smart home deviceand then in the menu Yandex click on Ribbon.

4. Then exit to the screen. The tape should be connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

That’s it, you can use the feed to its full potential.

What commands and scripts are recommended

Lighting control commands:

Alice, turn on the tape in my house

Alice, reduce the brightness of the tape by 70% in my house

Alice, make the light warmer in my house

Alice, turn on party mode on the tape

Deferred control commands:

Alice, turn on the feed every day in the kitchen at 8 am

Alice, the feed was turned on today at 9 pm

Alice, turn off the feed every day at midnight

Automation scenarios, except those that control only voice or time, require connecting other smart devices in the home.

Scenarios:

🤖 Turning on the tape by motion sensor. An external motion sensor is required. A very convenient option is to put the tape in a closet or dressing room – as soon as you enter, the light will turn on automatically. In the section Scenarios applications House with Alice we create a connection between two additional devices and custom operating conditions:

◆ if the sensor detects movement, the tape will turn on.
◆ if the sensor does not detect movement for XX seconds, then the tape turns off

Also in the menu you can make the ribbon not only turn on, but also change color.

🤖 Deterioration of air quality. An external air quality sensor is required. In the section Scenarios applications House with Alice It is better to change the color of the tape to red if the content of harmful substances has a certain threshold. You set the threshold yourself.

🤖 Exceeding the set temperature. sensor of the required temperature and humidity. In the section Scenarios applications House with Alice Create a connection between the lamp accessories and create conditions: at such a temperature the tape is painted in such and such a color.

🤖 Changing lighting to the sounds of nature. In the menu Scenarios create a new one, call it “Sounds of the sea”. Next, write the activator phrase (“Sounds of the sea”) and add two actions:

◆ Yandex Station: turns on the sound of the sea
◆ Tape: Turns on and changes color to blue.

🤖 Lighting behind the headboard. No script is required here – you just need to open the feed settings and set the mode. EveningWarm lighting is adjusted to the time of going to bed, and the light itself will not blind the eyes.

But if you want to enable this mode (and the feed itself) automatically, in the Scripts section, just create the appropriate ones:

◆ if the time is more than 7 pm but less than 10 pm, the tape will turn on and off the mode Evening

Even more consequences can be found in the application itself. House with AliceWell, in general there is only one limitation here: your imagination.

Is it worth buying?

Smart LED strips are a beautiful and useful thing in everyday life. They include color and light accents, highlighting important areas (for example, a kitchen countertop). You can use the strip as part of a notification system. And no one has canceled the entertainment moment thanks to the scenarios.

Integrating a smart tape is easy for a person who doesn’t even know anything about a smart home. After I connected them to the kitchen and bedroom, both rooms literally sparkled with new colors. Rarely controlling them manually, they set up automatic operation through scenarios.
