Trains will run between Grodekovo and Suifenhe (China), as well as between Khasan and Tumangan (North Korea) three times a week. Interfax reported this with reference to Russian Railways.

The company told the agency that the launch of passenger transportation will create a tourist flow. Russian Railways clarified that the train schedule for future routes for 2024-2025 is already being drawn up.
In addition, Russian Railways plans to launch the Vladivostok-Khasan-Rakhin (DPRK) route in trial mode in October, which has already been “agreed with our Korean colleagues.”

Communication between Primorye, China and the DPRK was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, only freight traffic is carried out through the Grodekovo-Suifenhe border crossing. Currently, there is also a cargo service from Hassan to Rajin.

In June, the first passenger train after the pandemic left Primorye for the DPRK, but it was carrying representatives of the tourism industry.
