Chinese car purchases in the summer last month rose 26% month-on-month and 1.5 times year-on-year and hit a record high. Analysts found that the share rose 2.7% over the month and 1.7% over the year.
By the end of eight months of 2024, Chinese companies imported passenger vehicles worth $9.15 billion into Russia, while a year earlier this figure was $6.8 billion.
If we talk about Chinese car exports in general and to other countries, they amounted to 59.2 billion dollars.
Russians are buying cars in droves. We are not only talking about new products in the automotive industry, but also about used equipment. The number of used cars sold in Russia at the end of August almost reached the record of three years ago. Market participants attribute this to the expectation of an increase in prices due to the upcoming increase in the recycling rate and the key rate of the Central Bank in October.
