In addition, according to the prosecutor’s office, employees can now organize unscheduled inspections of companies that have started work without notifying special authorities about the start of their activities.

“According to the changes, Rospotrebnadzor will conduct unannounced inspections (without notifying the inspected persons) when identifying risk indicators of violation of mandatory requirements for products subject to labeling with identification means,” the department clarified.

The resolution also increased the period of mandatory professional visits from 1 to 10 days in educational organizations, health institutions, social services and child nutrition.

Previously, agency employees were allowed to carry out inspections at food production companies, according to the prosecutor’s office, only if there was a special reason. The entrepreneur was required to be notified; otherwise, the visit would have been impossible.

According to the results of an inspection of the Teremok restaurant chain carried out in July and August, Rospotrebnadzor revealed large-scale violations. 66 complaints of administrative violations were issued.
