At the end of July, trade turnover between Russia and European countries exceeded €6 billion for the first time since November 2023, according to RIA Novosti data based on Eurostat data.

Bilateral trade “fell” for seven months and then began to grow, immediately increasing by 23%. In 2024, the figure reached 6.03 billion euros, the peak value was recorded in January; then it stood at the level of 6.09 billion euros.
Russia increased its supply of goods by 21% to €3 billion, and the EU increased its exports by 24.5% to €3.03 billion. Among the largest partners, trade turnover increased the most with Finland (3.1 times to €226 million), Croatia (2.7 times to €58 million) and Romania (2.6 times to €41 million).
Russia’s foreign trade with Sweden, the Czech Republic, Ireland and Spain has doubled. At the end of July, Germany remained our country’s largest trading partner: 836 million euros and growth of 25%. Italy (+38%) and Hungary (+12%) showed good gains.
A decline in turnover was observed in some countries: Cyprus, Denmark, Belgium and Slovakia.
Trade turnover between Russia and China in the first eight months of 2024 increased by 1.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching almost $158.47 billion.
