Everything you need to know about HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series

The new HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 series was designed with the goal of bringing a unique combination of “fashion and creativity,” as said by Alex Huang, Marketing Director of Huawei CBG (Consumer Business Group) during the launch event.

The series, which set out with the Fashion Edge motto, aims to raise the level of sophistication and elegance of smart watches. Huawei, already known for its investments in technology and innovation, has also focused heavily on the design of new devices to deliver a first-class experience.

The basic model of the new series is available in two sizes, 46 mm and 41 mm, each with its own color versions and bracelet types:

• 46 mm – Brown leather; Blue in fluoroelastomer and braided nylon; and Black in fluoroelastomer.
• 41 mm – Gilded in Milanese steel; Brown in fabric; White in leather; Blue in fluoroelastomer; and Black in fluoroelastomer.

Its geometric and elegant design, with a 1.43-inch round AMOLED display, uses stainless steel and titanium in its composition for greater lightness and durability. It also has an IP69K rating for water and corrosion resistance, which protects it from extreme temperatures and sudden pressure changes.

Speaking of technical specifications, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 is compatible with both Android and iOS, has 2.4 GHz Bluetooth 5.2 and energy-efficient BR + BLE connectivity, as well as NFC to enable contactless payments and wireless charging. Autonomy varies between the two sizes: up to 14 days in the 46 mm and up to 7 days in the 41 mm.

The smartwatch also has seven sensors including accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, optical heart rate, barometer, temperature, and ambient light.

The Pro model comes in 46mm and 42mm sizes. On the larger one, the AMOLED display is 1.43 inches, and the bracelet options are Silver on a titanium band and Black on a fluoroelastomer. On the 42mm version, the display is 1.32 inches, and the bracelet is white with a choice of fluoroelastomer or ceramic coating.

One of the main innovations of the Pro version is Golf tracking with over 15,000 registered golf courses worldwide, as well as tracking shots and distances from the ball to the green.

The watch case of the 4.2 mm version is made of nanocrystalline ceramic and resembles an engraved jewel. The watch glass of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro contains sapphire glass with a Mohs hardness of 8, which gives the smartwatch a high level of hardness and makes the watch glass more wear-resistant. . Like the base model, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro is IP69K certified and water-resistant to a depth of 40 meters.

From a technical point of view, the device is also compatible with Android and iOS, has NFC connectivity, 2.4 GHz Bluetooth 5.2 and BR + BLE and its autonomy is up to 14 days for the 46 mm and 7 days for the 42 mm. However, it comes with two more sensors than the basic model:

• ECG sensor – improves heart monitoring, provides real-time analysis and early detection of health problems.
• Depth sensor – for use in water activities such as swimming or diving.

Launched at the end of August, Tru Sense enhances health monitoring capabilities for more accurate analysis, greater speed and coverage. ,

In addition to maintaining the user’s physical fitness, it also features emotional well-being functions for a broader approach to health. The series also enhances features such as fitness tracking and advanced exercise modes with the HUAWEI Sunflower Positioning System, which targets running and cycling.
