Stiver was hospitalized with “an obscenely sized glioblastoma.” The project’s author wrote that “Flibusta apparently ended there.” The creator of the service noted that the online library’s servers have already been paid for several weeks.

  • Flibusta was launched in 2009. The online library offers free electronic versions of books in different languages.

  • In April 2016, following complaints from copyright holders, the Moscow City Court banned the online library, as well as its two “mirrors”, for life.
