The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, representatives of the department, Russian regions and the business community.
In order to prevent the circulation of counterfeit goods on the markets, the Commission decided to create a model for monitoring compliance by sites and their sellers with the requirements for the circulation of goods and to develop indicators of the risk of violations of these requirements.
The commission also advocated introducing the possibility of providing marketplaces with access to state trademark registration to prevent the sale of intellectual property-infringing products on their platforms.
To implement the measures, it is proposed to amend the federal law “On the platform economy” that is being developed by the Ministry of Economic Development, in particular to allow buyers to return non-compliant goods if the marketplace allows their sale.
In June, the government supported a bill submitted to the State Duma on state regulation of the operation of markets. The bill also establishes a rule that the total cost of all services provided to the seller cannot exceed 10% of the cost of the goods sold.
