Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi plans to launch double tri-fold smartphone instead of just a template. Information taken from the site 91 mobile phonesis based on patent registrations and approvals made by the brand.

The report has revealed the IMEI details of a second foldable device from the brand, which has a dual-hinge display. This device is certified 26013VP46C and at the beginning of the code name, launch will only take place in January 2026 and in China.

This device will not be the same as the company’s first three-piece folding model, which is currently in more advanced stages of development. This device, referred to by its internal code name, “Zhuk“, should also be launched in China in 2025 and in some international markets later.

At least one of Xiaomi’s two hinged models will probably not have physical buttons, but it is not yet possible to say whether this feature will be available for both models and what the differences will be between them.

A new era in foldable mobile phones

The Chinese manufacturer’s idea is not to leave rival Huawei alone in this segment. This month, the company introduced the Mate XT, the first model in its category with two hinges, as impressive as it is expensive and requires even more maintenance.

This model is expected to go on sale outside China in 2025, but no further information on pricing and regions is yet available. South Korea’s Samsung is another company that could soon introduce its own version.

Xiaomi is present in the sector with the most traditional looks in the category, in addition to the three-piece model. The manufacturer has introduced the new Mix Flip, its first model in shell format in 2024, and also the Mix Fold 4.
